Reference Pools

Biospecimen reference pools (control samples) are available from BioSEND for a variety of purposes, including pilot studies, assay optimization, and bridging across multiple assay runs. If your analysis will require splitting samples across multiple runs or days, dependent on instruments or time constraints, we recommend the inclusion of reference pools in each run to account for variability between runs. Inclusion of reference pools in your analysis benefits both inter- and intra-assay comparisons.

Reference pools, including plasma, serum, and CSF, are available for most cohorts in BioSEND. The reference pools were generated from non-distributable residual aliquots. The pools include samples from many subjects/visits within the named diagnosis category. Select a study from the list below to see more details about the available reference pools.
