NINDS Biospecimen Review Access Committees
BioSEND works with multiple disease and condition specific Biospecimen Review Access Committees. Each BRAC includes representatives from studies which banked the samples, extramural researchers with expertise in clinical research, biomarker discovery and validation, and biostatistics.
Each BRAC utilizes the same metric to assess an application, including technical feasibility, investigator expertise, statistical power, resource justification, and likelihood of the proposed research contributing important knowledge regarding disease etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, or treatment.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Visit the specific BRAC page to access the review schedule, list of previously approved requests, and the roster of the current committee members.
